Program to offer Nashville Flight Training aviation students’ career opportunities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – July 22, 2016 – Nashville Flight Training has been named the launch partner school for the ExpressJet Airlines Preferred School Program (PSP). The announcement was made during a signing event today. The program will offer Nashville Flight Training aviation students’ career progression opportunities with ExpressJet Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW).

“We are honored to be the launch school for the ExpressJet Airlines Preferred School Program,” said Chris Erlanson, Nashville Flight Training president. “This program is a mutually beneficial opportunity, allowing our school to provide a career path for our flight students while helping fill the pilot pipeline for ExpressJet.”

Through the preferred school agreement students completing flight training at a partner school will receive an early interview at ExpressJet. Upon successful completion of the interview, qualifying students will be offered a conditional offer of employment with ExpressJet. He or she would continue to flight instruct as a Certified Flight Instructor for Nashville Flight Training until they meet the required hours to be hired at ExpressJet. ExpressJet is the only regional airline that offers career pathways to United Airlines and JetBlue Airways.

The ExpressJet Airlines Preferred School Program is also a unique way to address the pilot shortage the aviation industry is already experiencing.

Accelerated Ground School – Monday July 11 / July 18 / July 25 / August 1 / August 8 / August 15

Nashville Flight Training has opened registration for their “Accelerated Ground School” for the general public. This course will focus on the oral component of the private pilot check ride and will be useful for students pursuing a private pilot license, those returning to flying, or those seeking a refresher course. All training may be applied toward the FAA requirements for a private pilot certification.

Each class will be one night per week – every Monday night from 6:30-8:30 running from Monday July 11 / July 18 / July 25 / August 1 / August 8 / August 15. The student will receive a total of 12 hours of ground school over those 6 classes.

Cost to the student: $379 (a $480 value) Adult students who bring their children (between 12 and 17) can register their child for an additional $249.

NASHVILLE FLIGHT TRAINING ANNOUNCES SUMMER YOUTH AVIATION CAMP

Nationally recognized flight school debuts “Nashville Pilot Camp” program for teens.

 

Nashville, Tenn – Nashville Flight Training announces Nashville Pilot Camp June 27 through July 1 for teens ages 13 to 18 with an interest in aviation. Attendees will receive FAA-certified flight instruction in a real airplane. Additionally, participants will receive tours of aviation maintenance facilities and other support facilities at the Nashville International Airport.

 

“We are excited to have the opportunity to train the next generation of pilots here in Nashville,” says Isaac Shrum, Nashville Flight Training’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “The national pilot shortage we are currently experiencing makes this the perfect time to learn to fly, especially for youth with future plans of becoming a professional pilot.”

 

Specially designed for ages 13 to 18, Nashville Pilot Camp offers the opportunity to find out what it really takes to learn to fly. During this one week summer camp, students will learn through hands-on participation as they gain valuable aviation experience. NASHVILLE FLIGHT TRAINING RECOGNIZED FOR FLIGHT TRAINING EXCELLENCE BY NATIONAL ASSOCIATION

School selected out of hundreds of flight schools nationwide.

Nashville, Tenn – Nashville Flight Training has been recognized for its high standard of accomplishment in flight training by The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the world’s largest aviation association. The flight school has been awarded a spot on the Flight Training Excellence Awards Honor Roll, a title given to high scoring flight schools from AOPA’s annual flight training poll.

AOPA’s Flight Training Excellence Awards were created to highlight the best flight training the industry has to offer. “All of us here at AOPA are proud and excited to recognize this year’s winners,” said Chris Moser, AOPA’s manager of flight training initiatives. “The Flight Training Excellence Awards were created to recognize best practices in flight training—excellent customer service, quality education, community development, and sharing knowledge. The feedback from this year’s poll makes it clear that the winners are providing high quality and effective training for their students.”
